Membership
The American Freelance Paralegal Association offers two types of membership, Regular Membership and Associate Membership.
Regular Membership
Regular Membership is open to any freelance / independent / contract paralegal which shall meet the following requirements:
- Provides paralegal services as an independent / freelance / contractor.
- Has had a minimum of one year working directly for an attorney, or has provided freelance / independent / contract paralegal services for over 10 years prior to 2007, or has been working in a like or suitable virtual position for over 10 years prior to 2007, or has made a special request of the sitting board to consider circumstances of their individual and unique past that should qualify them to be part of this association by a unanimous vote of the Board of Directors.
- Have made application to AFPA and shall have been approved for membership by AFPA Board of Directors, or...
- Shall at all times be a member in good standing of AFPA
Regular membership is $125.00 per year. Your first year of membership is discounted to $85.00.

Associate Membership
Associate Membership shall be open to any individual or business entity which meet the following requirements:
- Must be engaged in the business of manufacturing, distributing, supplying, dealing in or selling products or services generally used and relating to and necessary to the members of the Association.
- Have made application to AFPA, and shall be approved for membership by AFPA Board of Directors
Associate Membership fee is $100. Your first year of membership is $85.
Associate Membership Application
Memberships are currently being accepted by facsimile, email and regular mail. Please provide your application along with your first year’s membership dues. Dues can be paid by Paypal, Cashiers Check, or Personal/ Business Check. Your application will be processed within 30 days. If you are rejected your membership dues will be returned.
