The American Freelance Paralegal Association is proud to announce its June webinar to be held on July 17th at 4:30 PST, 6:30 CST, 7:30 EST. The event will feature special guest speaker Dorothy Secol, CLA.
“So - You Think You Want to Freelance!- Going Into Business for Yourself” will be the topic presented by Dorothy Secol, CLA..
Dorothy will cover such topics as deciding to start a business, what it takes to be an entrepreneur and what form of business should be considered. She will also cover some other items that need to be considered such as having a home office or leased space, what type of office equipment one needs and whether it should be purchased or leased.
Dorothy Secol, CLA is a co-founder of Paralegal Services USA, LLC, the nation's first paralegal franchise. In addition to the franchise, their website, www.paralegalservicesusa.com is also home to Paralegal Services USA, the paralegal company offering paralegal services to attorneys in the areas of bankruptcy, probate, litigation, foreclosure, real estate, contract and corporate law.
All freelance, independent, and contract paralegals are invited to attend. There is limited "seating" for the event. Registration is required by July 14th.
The AFPA will be using a "talking community" format for this event. This format is a moderated online meeting that will allow speaking, text messaging and file sharing. All you will need is speakers and a mic although a mic is not mandatory as you can text in any comments you wish to make. The moderator will read your comment for the group to hear if appropriate.
Additionally, in order to participate you will need to download a small utility to your computer. We suggest that you download the utility as soon as possible and contact us at information@freelanceparalegal.org if there are any technical difficulties.

Click on this link and bookmark it. Download the Conference Room utility from the blue box. Then click on the link in the red box to enter the room. Your user name is your first and last name. This is a hosted event so there is no password required. When you enter the meeting room for the webinar you must use your first and last name as your username. Once again, you must be preregistered to attend.
Feel free to test drive the meeting room prior to the event.
